Overview
This 14-day journey takes you deep into the remote Zanskar region and the dramatic high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh. Covering roughly 1,200–1,500 km, the route winds through rugged mountain roads, narrow valleys, and some of the most breathtaking passes in the Himalayas. Starting and ending in Leh, the journey moves through places like Lamayuru, Photoksar, Lingshed, Zangla, Padum, Phuktal, Gombo, and Sarchu, each offering its own raw beauty and sense of isolation.
Along the way, you’ll cross legendary high-altitude passes such as Sirsir La, Singe La, Shingo La, Shinku La, Baralacha La, and Tanglang La. The journey takes you through quiet villages and untouched valleys, and into some of the most ancient and secluded monasteries in the region—Lamayuru, Lingshed, Zangla, Kharsha, Strongday, and the spectacular Phuktal Monastery, built into a cliffside.
The experience isn’t just about driving. There are moderate treks and Red Lake hikes, peaceful nights in homestays and camps, and endless views of Moonland terrain, rivers, glaciers, and high-altitude lakes. You’ll get a close look at local life and culture, where people live in harmony with the mountains and nature.
The tour includes experienced guides, a 4-wheeler for the journey, comfortable homestays or camps, and selected meals, making it a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and the untouched wilderness of the Himalayas.
