Book NowThis 15-day motorcycle trip from Leh to Leh takes you through Zanskar and Ladakh. It’s perfect for those who enjoy remote roads, tall mountains, and places that still seem untouched. The route covers about 1,700 to 1,800 km. It winds through rugged terrain, narrow valleys, and some of the most stunning mountain passes in the Himalayas. Starting from Leh, the ride passes through Lingshed, Lamayuru, Padum, Zangla, Phuktal, Gombo, and Sarchu before returning to Leh.
Along the way, you will cross famous high-altitude passes like Sirsir La, Singe La, Shingo La, Shinku La, Baralacha La, and Tanglang La. Each pass is challenging, rewarding, and unforgettable. The journey takes you through remote villages and quiet valleys, as well as ancient monasteries such as Lamayuru, Lingshed, Zangla, Kharsha, Strongday, and the breathtaking Phuktal Monastery, which is built into a cliff.
This trip is not just about riding. There are relaxing evenings in peaceful homestays and camps, and endless views of Moonland terrain, rivers, glaciers, and high-altitude lakes. You will get a close look at local life, where people live in harmony with the mountains and nature.
With motorbikes, experienced guides, mechanic support, comfortable homestays or camps, and selected meals included, this journey provides a great mix of adventure, culture, and raw Himalayan wilderness. It’s an experience that stays with you long after the ride ends.

Itinerary
- Arrive at Leh Airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in.
- Take time to rest and adjust to the high altitude (3500 m).
- After lunch, join a brief orientation that covers trip details, riding rules, safety tips, and the motorbike handover.
- There’s an optional short walk to Leh Market for light acclimatization.
- Enjoy an early dinner and stay overnight in Leh.
- After breakfast, set out for a cultural excursion around Leh, exploring historic sites along the beautiful Indus Valley.
- Begin with a visit to Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh. The palace complex is known for its large copper statue of Buddha and offers scenic views over the Indus Valley and surrounding farmland.
- Continue the journey across the Indus River to the royal residence of Stok Palace, which still serves as the home of the Ladakhi royal family. The palace houses a small museum displaying royal artifacts, traditional clothing, and historic photographs that provide insight into Ladakh’s royal heritage.
- A short distance away, visit Stok Monastery, a peaceful hilltop monastery belonging to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery is known for its ancient murals, sacred statues, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
- Return to Leh by late afternoon, leaving the evening free to relax, explore local cafés, or stroll through the market.

- After an early breakfast, begin the journey from Leh towards the remote village of Lingshed.
- Ride through scenic mountain roads to reach Chilling, a small village located on the banks of the Zanskar River and known as the gateway to the beautiful Zanskar Valley.
- From Chilling, continue the journey towards Lingshed through rugged mountain terrain and remote Himalayan landscapes.
- The route passes through traditional Ladakhi villages and offers stunning views of deep valleys, barren mountains, and winding mountain roads.
- Upon arrival in Lingshed, check in to your homestay or campsite and spend the evening relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of this remote mountain village.

- After breakfast, depart from the remote village of Lingshed and begin your ride towards Lamayuru.
- The route takes you across some scenic high mountain passes, including Singge La (approx. 5,050 m), one of the highest motorable passes in the region.
- As you descend towards Lamayuru, the landscape transforms into the famous “Moonland” terrain known for its unique geological formations.
- Upon arrival, visit the historic Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, perched dramatically above the village.
- Spend some time exploring the monastery and the surrounding landscape before settling in for the evening.

- After breakfast, depart from Lamayuru and begin your ride towards Sankoo.
- Ride along the scenic Srinagar–Leh Highway, passing through rugged mountain landscapes and small Ladakhi villages before reaching Kargil, the second-largest town in Ladakh. Take a short break here for refreshments and fuel.
- After Kargil, continue the journey towards the lush and picturesque Suru Valley. As you ride deeper into the valley, the landscape changes dramatically from barren mountains to green fields, flowing streams, and traditional villages.
- By afternoon, arrive at Sankoo, a charming village surrounded by towering peaks and known for its fertile lands and apricot orchards.

- After breakfast, depart from the picturesque village of Sankoo and continue your journey deeper into the remote landscapes of Zanskar Valley.
- The route takes you through the beautiful Suru Valley, known for its lush green fields, traditional villages, and spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
- As you ride further, the road gradually climbs towards the high mountain pass of Pensi La (approx. 4,400 m), which serves as the gateway to Zanskar.
- At the top of the pass, enjoy breathtaking views of the massive Drang Drung Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the Ladakh region. From here, descend into the dramatic landscapes of Zanskar and continue riding alongside the Zanskar River.
- By afternoon, arrive at Padum, the administrative and cultural center of Zanskar. Spend the evening exploring the small town or relaxing after the scenic ride.

- After breakfast, spend the day exploring the cultural and natural highlights around Padum, the heart of the remote Zanskar Valley.
- Begin with a visit to the historic Karsha Monastery, the largest monastery in Zanskar, beautifully located on a hillside overlooking the valley.
- The monastery offers impressive views and insight into the region’s Buddhist culture and traditions.
- You may also explore nearby villages and enjoy views of the Zanskar River, experiencing the traditional lifestyle of this remote Himalayan region.
Overnight stay at Padum.
- After breakfast, begin a scenic ride from Padum towards the historic village of Zangla.
- Ride along the beautiful landscapes of the Zanskar Valley, following the course of the Zanskar River. Upon reaching Zangla, visit the ancient Zangla Palace, a historic royal residence perched on a hill offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley.
- On the return journey, stop to explore the impressive Stongdey Monastery, the second-largest monastery in the Zanskar region, known for its hilltop location, beautiful murals, and peaceful atmosphere.
- After spending some time exploring the monastery and enjoying the views, ride back to Padum by evening.

- After breakfast, depart from Padum and begin the journey towards the remote village of Gombo Rangjon.
- Ride through the rugged landscapes of Zanskar Valley, following the scenic route along the Tsarap River.
- En route, take a detour and short trek to visit the spectacular Phuktal Monastery, one of the most remarkable monasteries in Ladakh, dramatically built into the face of a cliff beside a natural cave.
- Spend some time exploring the monastery, interacting with monks, and enjoying the unique surroundings before continuing your ride deeper into the remote Himalayan terrain.
- By evening, arrive near the iconic Gombo Rangjon peak, a striking, solitary mountain revered by locals for its spiritual significance.

- After an early breakfast, depart from Gombo Rangjon and begin the long yet spectacular ride towards Manali.
- Ride through the remote landscapes of Zanskar Valley before climbing towards the high mountain pass of Shinku La (approx. 5,091 m).
- From the top of the pass, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and rugged mountain terrain.
- After crossing Shinku La, descend into the scenic Lahaul Valley, riding through remote villages and beautiful alpine landscapes.
- Continue the journey towards Sissu, where you will enter the famous Atal Tunnel, one of the longest high-altitude road tunnels in the world.
- By evening, arrive in Manali.

- Spend some time exploring Mall Road, where you can shop for local handicrafts, enjoy cafés, and experience the lively atmosphere of the town.
- Return to the hotel by evening.

- After an early breakfast, depart from Manali and begin the journey along the legendary Manali–Leh Highway towards Sarchu.
- The ride starts with a pass through the scenic Atal Tunnel, emerging into the beautiful Lahaul Valley.
- Continue riding along the Bhaga River through small mountain settlements before gradually climbing towards the high mountain pass of Baralacha La (approx. 4,890 m).

- Breakfast availability in hotels on the last day totally depends on your departure time.
- It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the tour. The advisable baggage weight is 60 liters as you might have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle, the accommodation, etc.
- For Single Occupancy Room you have to pay 200 EUR extra.
- The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travelers will be accommodated in a property of similar standards.
- There will be additional charges for the traveler who would like to stay back or take additional stay at any destination or transit.

- Ladakh has one of the most difficult terrains in the country and the weather is harsh and unpredictable. The hotels and their facilities in Ladakh cannot be compared with equivalent hotels in other parts of the country. They are more basic in nature, but Ladakhi people carry the local warmth, which compensates for the star categories.
- Consult a physician before taking the tour. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.

- If rescheduling is requested between 30 and 60 days before the Date of Travel, 20% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- If rescheduling is requested between 15 and 30 days before the Date of Travel, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- If a booking is made within 15 days of the Date of Travel, no rescheduling or modifications will be permitted.
